We came here for dinner on a work trip and it was honestly wonderful! The ambiance of the place is superb, good lighting and the perfect volume. We were seated on the top floor which was perfect for people watching. There was such a nice variety of seating and types of tables. Our food was also amazing, we got oysters, a bread basket, and the lobster rolls. The food was flavorful and the cocktails were creative! Would definitely recommend for a more upscale dining experience.

Came for burger week. The burger did not disappoint although it was a bit too stacked and messy to eat. Overall the contents were very unique and the bun was simply aesthetically pleasing. I really enjoyed the burger 8/10. Staff were also very personable.

Great food and great service! The bread service was really good with multiple options, food is prepared well with great flavor choices per meal. Their signature squid ink garlic mayo was cool to try. Service was excellent from initial reception with coat service to food service with the right number of check-ins!

Came in for brunch and now want to go back to try the dinner menu. This restaurant is not overhyped. It is just simply that good. Would order the brisket benny again. Portions were big.

Everything we had was delicious. It’s located in the Alexander Keith building, which is worth seeing on its own. Service was incredible however the kitchen was a bit slow so don’t go if you’re in a hurry.

Black Sheep is a warm and cozy spot, perfect for solo diners looking to enjoy some "me time." The ambiance strikes a balance between inviting and relaxing, making it ideal for a quiet meal or a reflective moment. The service stood out—attentive without being intrusive. The servers checked in just enough to ensure a great experience while giving plenty of space to savor the meal in peace. I ordered the fish and chips, which were excellent overall. While the crust on the fish was slightly over-fried, the flavors were still satisfying. The real stars of the dish were the trio of sauces served alongside, especially the house-special black garlic aioli and the unique chippy sauce. These additions elevated the dish to a memorable level. I would absolutely come back again! Whether you’re a local or just visiting Halifax, Black Sheep is a must-try spot. Their thoughtful service and bold flavors make it worth a visit.

The meals had a different unique twist to them and really enjoyed the homemade condiments and admiring all of the breads as well. Caesar has a great kick with all the right ingredients and garnishes. We came on a weekend and it seemed to be less busy but the brunch food was quite a long wait. If you can allow extra time and don’t arrive too hungry, it’s worth the wait. Had the ceviche as an appetizer and it was tasty. We were too hungry by the time the main food came and forgot to take pictures but the diner breakfast is excellent and a good portion, the brisket Benny is also very good and the meat is high quality. Loved that would could have a side salad with the meal instead of starches. The server was accommodating with the personalized requests and it was a bonus to have a weekend farmers market right outside the entrance.

Nice place .. the food was great .. the lamb croquettes were nice and crispy and well seasoned. The eggs benny was amazing.. the squid ink aioli for the fries was a little bland but the rest of the dish was amazing! The chowder was great as well.. the desserts were all very tasty could have been a less sweeter..it was very sweet for my taste but the flavours were really really nice
